Christos Oil
For centuries, the anointing was poured from a flask. Kings were consecrated by priests. Infants were sealed with oil at the forehead. But the ancients who first encoded these rituals knew the real anointing was not something applied from outside. It was something awakened within. The priest was always you.
One Word.
Two Anointings.
"Christ" is not a surname. It is a title. From the Greek Christos — the Anointed One. From chrisma — the sacred oil. The title names a state: a human being in whom the inner oil has been awakened, preserved, and raised. Jesus did not hold this title as a birthright. He embodied it. His life was the demonstration. His title was the instruction.
In Catholic and Orthodox tradition, chrism oil is one of the most sacred substances of the faith. Prepared during Holy Week, blessed by bishops, stored in ornate vessels. Applied to the forehead of the baptized, the hands of the ordained, the crown of the enthroned. Whole liturgies were built around it. Nations went to war to control who could consecrate it.
It is real. It is beautiful. It is the symbol of something once understood to be biological and internal — the outer reminder of an inner reality that the institution had long since forgotten how to activate.
"To be anointed with chrism in a ceremony is to be reminded of consecration. To awaken the Christos oil within is to embody it. One is the symbol. The other is the reality."
Master Thyself, Chapter 21Inside the brain, in the tiny chamber known as the claustrum — what the ancients called the holy of holies — a subtle secretion is produced. The Greeks called this inner fluid Christos. It is carried in cerebrospinal fluid and, when preserved through fasting and disciplined practice, descends through the spinal column and ascends again to illuminate the pineal gland.
This was the true meaning of anointing. When Paul wrote "Christ in you, the hope of glory" (Colossians 1:27), he was not describing a ritual at an altar. He was describing a physiological reality. The anointing was never meant to remain external.
Over centuries, the internal truth was externalized. The sacred secretion was replaced by chrism in a vial. Illumination became a ceremony performed by clergy rather than a lived process of regeneration. The symbol remained. The reality was forgotten.
They Hid It in the Stories.
Every Story.
The tradition of encoding inner teaching inside outer narrative had a name: Midrash. The ancients hid the map inside stories so it would survive suppression intact. The parables of Jesus are not moral fables. They are biological instructions dressed in narrative.
Five virgins kept oil in their lamps. Five did not. At midnight the bridegroom arrived — only those with oil could enter. The oil in the lamp is the Christos oil preserved through discipline. The bridegroom arriving at midnight is the lunar timing window. Those who squandered their oil through appetite and incoherence could not enter the bridal chamber of illumination. The door was not locked from outside. It was simply inaccessible to a vessel with nothing preserved in it.
The prophet Elisha tells a widow to gather empty vessels and pour from her one small jar of oil. The oil fills every vessel she brings — and stops only when she runs out of containers. This is the inner economy of the Christos path: when the secretion is preserved, it multiplies. When more vessels are prepared through discipline and fasting, more is given. The widow's poverty is not financial. The oil waits for the container. The miracle is biological: a body that creates the conditions for regeneration receives regeneration.
Mary anoints Jesus' feet with costly perfumed oil, wiping it with her hair. Judas objects: the oil could have fed the poor for a year. Jesus defends her. Mary — whom Jesus elevated above the male disciples in the suppressed Gospel of Mary — understood the inner meaning of anointing. She was not wasting the oil. She was demonstrating what it is for. The outer anointing pointed to what the inner oil does when raised: it transforms everything it touches. The real waste was always in the scattering, not the giving.
The Samaritan pours oil and wine on the wounded man before carrying him to safety. Oil and wine are the two substances of ancient anointing: wine for cleansing, oil for sealing. In the body, wine represents the blood — the circulatory system. Oil represents the cerebrospinal fluid — the anointing current. The priest and the Levite pass by. Only the Samaritan — an outsider with no institutional authority — administers the correct treatment. The healing anointing was never the property of the priesthood. It was available to anyone who knew what they were pouring.
The Gospel Narrative
Is a Physiological Map.
Christ did not merely preach the Path. He demonstrated it. His life — descent, baptism, wilderness, ministry, crucifixion, tomb, resurrection, ascension — mirrors the 12-stage cycle the Christos oil undergoes within the human temple. His life is the map. His title is the key.
When the Oil
Completes Its Circuit
The ancients did not promise enlightenment as a reward for belief. They described a physiological process with measurable states. When the Christos oil completes its 12-stage circuit through the body-temple, the effects are biological — not symbolic.
The pineal gland releases light-bearing secretions when the inner current reaches the crown. Ancient traditions called it the single eye, the Eye of Horus, the lamp of the body. When activated through fasting and discipline, what it produces remains one of the least studied biological events in modern neuroscience — and one of the most consistently described experiences across 5,000 years of human tradition.
Inventor-scientist Itzhak Bentov described how in deep stillness the body enters subtle oscillations: heart and brain entrain, cerebrospinal fluid pulses in coherence, hemispheres synchronize. Awareness loosens. Time perception shifts. Consciousness expands. The spine becomes a resonant antenna. The oil rising through a disciplined vessel is coherence made biological.
Fasting triggers autophagy — the body's cellular self-cleaning mechanism. The glymphatic system, discovered in 2012, shows cerebrospinal fluid actively flushes metabolic waste from the brain during fasting and sleep. The conditions the Christos path describes — rhythmic fasting, preserved inner essence, directed attention — produce measurable cellular renewal regardless of tradition, timing, or belief.
A fully raised secretion produces what Jesus embodied: anointed, sovereign, needing no intermediary. A person with direct access to the divine doesn't need priests, kings, or permission structures. The entire architecture of control becomes irrelevant. That is what they buried — a biological mechanism, encoded in every human body, that makes the intermediary unnecessary. And that awakened person: ungovernable.
"The sacred oil rising through the spine is cerebrospinal fluid carrying signaling molecules through the same structures that govern consciousness, perception, and regeneration. The jailbreak was written into the design itself."
Master Thyself, Chapter 21The Chakra System
Is the Endocrine System.
The chakra system was never purely symbolic. Every endocrine gland corresponds to a domain of egoic attachment — and a domain of fasting. To fast from food is to begin. To fast from the patterns feeding each gland is to complete the circuit.
| # | Chakra | Gland | Element | Fast From |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VII | Crown | Pineal | Light | Artificial light, distraction, addiction to limitation |
| VI | Third Eye | Pineal & Pituitary | Light | Negative visualization, managed belief, manufactured fear |
| V | Throat | Thyroid | Sound | Gossip, dishonest speech, the compulsion to fill silence |
| IV | Heart | Thymus | Air | Toxic relationships, emotional wounds carried as identity |
| III | Solar Plexus | Adrenal | Fire | Chronic stress, reactivity, the need to control outcomes |
| II | Sacral | Digestive Glands | Water | Scattered desire, compulsive craving, incoherent appetite |
| I | Root | Sex Glands | Earth | Processed foods, stimulants, survival-mode thinking |
They Found It.
They Got the Timing Very Wrong.
George W. Carey and Inez Eudora Perry made a genuine discovery in the early 20th century — and embedded a consequential error that has misdirected seekers for over 100 years.
Carey (1845–1924) and Perry (1856–1940) proposed — correctly — that the human body produces a sacred secretion on a recurring monthly rhythm. Their works, The Tree of Life and God-Man: The Word Made Flesh, were ahead of their time. The biological claim was real. The suppression they described was real. The fasting connection was real. They found the door. On the substance, they were right.
- ✓The secretion is real and biological
- ✓It operates on a monthly cycle
- ✓Fasting and discipline preserve it
- ✓The ancients encoded it in scripture and symbol
- ✓It was deliberately suppressed by institutional power
The timing. Carey and Perry built their entire framework around the natal Sun sign — the Moon's position at the moment of birth — as the preservation window. Fast when the Moon returns to your birth sign. They applied it as a fixed lifetime template inherited from astrological tradition.
This was a reasonable attempt with the tools available in 1920. It was also wrong in a way that matters enormously to anyone trying to practice this. The actual mechanism is tracked by different means entirely, and the correct timing window is not the same as the Carey/Perry Sun sign method.
That error, embedded in their legacy and repeated across a century of esoteric teaching, has sent practitioners fasting at the wrong time — preserving nothing — wondering why the biology isn't responding. The corrected, endocrinologically grounded timing framework is in Master Thyself.
"Disciplined restraint, applied rhythmically, produces measurable cellular renewal regardless of tradition, timing, or belief. The open question is the mechanism. What isn't open is that the mechanism exists."
